This is My Story
I was born in England and most of my life I have been dedicated to horses, spending a lot of time in the saddle. Eventing was my passion, and I was fortunate enough to represent both GB and The Netherlands at International level. In the early 70’s I spent time training in Germany and Holland so ultimately came in contact with their horse breeds. Throughout the time I have spent in Holland I have witnessed the transformation from work horses to sport horses and have become very familiar with the so-called warmblood horse.
Over the years I have been directly involved in the selection and subsequent purchase of many quality warmblood horses, several of which have gone on to be very successful at the highest level.
Most people looking to purchase an equine have a really good idea what they want, but where to find it brings another problem. In such a situation I can help. I’m interested and involved with all aspects of Horsemanship, and have a sound relationship with breeders, riders and trainers of these horses in Holland and the surrounding countries. I speak fluent Dutch and German so communication with these people is pretty straight forward for me.
During my riding career next to the fantastic, unbelievable moments, I have also experienced the ups and downs, the heartbreak, the disappointments that most of us entail, so for me it is of utmost importance that the horse really suits it’s new owner (and likewise the owner is the right person for the equine). I enjoy meeting people and love being amongst horses so feel privileged that I can spend time doing what I love to do. Potential clients, professional or amateur with whatever budget, are treated with respect and are in no way pressurised. We all know what a daunting experience it is to make that final choice, always wondering if it’s the right decision.
“A true horseman does not look at the horse with his eyes, he looks at his horse with his heart.”
